SUITE DEDICATED TO PRINCE RAJARAM CHUTTRAPUTTI II OF KOLHAPUR, LOVER OF ART AND CULTURE
This young prince died in Florence in 1871 and is commemorated today with a monument located at the confluence of the Mugnone river with the Arno river, the place where the Prince’s body was burned according to the Hindu ritual and where his ashes were scattered.
The suite reminds you of Indian art with decorations on the ceiling, floor and furnishings, brought into the context of Florence creating an almost surreal atmosphere: “Hindu India in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore”.
